A grade will be assigned on the basis of total marks following the University ‗s grading policy shown below.
Grading System:
The Grading System for assessing the course performance of the students shall be as follows:
Numerical Grade (% of Marks) | Letter Grade(LG) | Grade Point (GP/unit) | Remarks/Status |
80-100 | A+ (A plus) | 4.00 | Excellent |
75 to less than 80 | A (A regular) | 3.75 | Very good |
70 to less than 75 | A– (A minus) | 3.50
65 to less than 70 | B+(B plus) | 3.25 | Good |
60 to less than 65 | B (B regular) | 3.00
55 to less than 60 | B– (B minus) | 2.75 | Satisfactory |

45 to less than 50 | C | 2.25 | Pass |
40 to less than 45 | D | 2.00 | |
less than 40 | F | 0.00 | Fail |
Grading Policy
Numerical Grade | Letter Grade | Specification | Grade Point |
80% and above | A+ | (A plus) | 4.0 |
75% to less than 80% | A | (A regular) | 3.75 |
70% to less than 75% | A- | (A minus) | 3.50 |
65% to less than 70% | B+ | (B plus) | 3.25 |

Less than 40% | F | F | 2.0 |
REMARK ―F means failure. Credits for courses with this grade do not apply towards graduation and needs to repeat for improvement. |
Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
The Grade Point Average (CGPA) is computed as―grade point earned‖ dividing by ―number of credit hours attempted‖ in a particular semester. For example: a student taking 4courses of 3 credits each and obtaining letter grades A+, B, C and F will have the following GPA:
Course Code | Cr. Hr. | Letter grade | GP | TGP Cr. Hr. XGP |
ENG1103 | 3 | A+ | 4.00 | 12.00 |
ENG1104 | 3 | B | 3.00 | 9.00 |
ENG1105 | 3 | C | 2.25 | 6.75 |
ENG1106 | 3 | F | 0.00 | 0.00 |
TCH=12 | TGP=27.75 |
